About Hanan
Hanan Ali Abbasi is a young Author, Journalist and Broadcaster. His journalistic career started at the age of 17 when he started covering National Assembly proceedings, political developments, General Elections and proceedings of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. He was appointed as Editor of a regional Daily Newspaper published from Rawalpindi and Abbottabad. In 2005, he became the youngest journalist ever to be awarded the “Pak-UK Excellence Award” in the field of Media and Urdu Literature. Observing his services in highlighting the problems of people, affected in October 2005 Earthquake, a Turkey based international human rights organization I.H.H, The Foundation for Human Rights, Freedoms and Humanitarian Relief, awarded him the best Young Writer Award in Earthquake issues. He has worked with many national daily newspapers as freelancer columnist including Nawa-e-Waqt, Daily Ausaf, Daily Azkar and others. He has also worked with Radio Pakistan and Pakistani TV channel, the ATV. He has authored a book on “Zameeni Sitaray” which was distributed in all schools of his district by the District Government Abbottabad and District Government Mansehra. He also wrote an Urdu Drama “Kali Andhi” for Pakistan Television. He has participated in seminars on “Role of Media promoting the culture of Mutual Tolerance, Civic responsibility & Role of Law organized by the National Defiance University Islamabad and Pakistan Young Leaders Conference 2010 organized by National Union of Pakistani Students & Alumni (NUPSA). He has also visited United Kingdom, China & Hong Kong with the Youth parliamentarian delegation and national youth delegation.
